The Tax Reform bill narrowly passed by the senate under the cover of night this past weekend does the opposite of what we believe as justice-seeking people of faith. It privileges the wealthy, harms working families, small businesses and students struggling to make ends meet.
But, the fight isn't over yet.
The senate and house must now conference and decide on a plan and then vote again to adopt it. They have some significant differences among them. The time is now to make your voice heard to your legislators.
Contact your senators and representative and urge them to vote no on this and any tax reform package that further concentrates wealth in the hands of the privileged few while denying life-giving access to benefits for the most vulnerable among us.
